The Arts Roadmap is a very insightful, comprehensive diagnostic tool that will help you assess 15 of your company's critical operational areas and give you a clear, practical plan to help you get where you want to go. 

What Areas Does The Roadmap Cover?

  1. Mission 
    Does your Mission Statement reflect the true values and core of your organization?  Does it support your company's artistic vision?  Does it give your company an exciting and practical vision? Does it tell you where you want to be in 5 years? 


  2. Customers
    Do your customers benefit from and support the mission of your organization?  Do you have a diverse customer base in terms of age, income, ethnicity, location, etc?  How big is your subscription base and is it growing?

  3. Fundraising
    Do you have an aggressive, diverse fundraising program?  Do you have a successful, diverse grantwriting program?  Do you have a growing donors list?

  4. Marketing
    Are your marketing efforts producing results - are more and more people buying tickets?  Do you have a system in place to measure the effectiveness of each marketing outlet?

  5. Public Relations
    Do you have good working relationships established with strategic media outlets and are you getting regular coverage?  Are you getting reviewers to your events?

  6. World Wide Web
    Is your web site producing income for you?  Can you sell tickets and take donations from your web site?  Are you aggressively marketing your web site by getting it listed on important search engines and by getting it linked to other strategic web sites?

  7. Staff
    Does your staff understand and fully embrace your mission in everything they do?  Does each staff person understand their part in the mission?  Does your staff structure facilitate good customer service and efficiency?  Do your staff feel like they are an important part of your team and contribute accordingly?

  8. Board of Directors
    Does your Board understand and embrace your mission and vision in everything they do?  Do they understand that their main purpose is to raise funds and resources for your organization?  Do they know how to do this?

  9. Events
    Are your events scheduled, auditioned, rehearsed, and performed in an efficient, cost-effective manner which supports the vision of your organization?  Are you producing the quality of work that you would like to? 

  10. Financials
    Is your current financial status healthy?  Do you have diverse, balanced sources of income?  Are your financial systems open and accountable?  Do your financial systems support the mission of your organization?

  11. Box Office
    Is your box office customer friendly?  Are your tickets accessible for purchase from multiple, varied sources?  Do you make it easy for your customers to purchase your tickets?  Does your Box Office produce information and reports that are useful in helping you make strategic decisions for your company?

  12. Vendors
    Do your have good working relationships with your vendors?  Are you sure that you are getting the most for each dollar spent on all of your vendors?  Are your vendor relationships reviewed on a regular basis? 

  13. Computer Systems
    Is your current computer system efficient and user-friendly and it is helping you to support your mission? 

  14. Facilities
    Does the space you work in support the mission of your organization?  Is your space providing you with as much income as possible? 

  15. Educational Activities
    Do you offer educational courses that are a source of income and networking for your company?   


What is the Process?

  1. Paperwork 
    We will review all of your operational paperwork, including financial statements, leases, vendor agreements, etc.

  2. Marketing 
    We will review all of your printed marketing and collateral material such as advertisements, programs, etc.

  3. Web Site
    We will do an extensive review of your web site.

  4. Interviews 
    We will do extensive interviews with your staff, board members, customers, vendors, etc.

  5. Facilities 
    If possible we will visit and survey your facilities.

  6. Event 
    We will attend at least one of your company's events/performances if possible.

  7. Final Report 
    We will then draft a final report which will give a diagnosis and recommendations for each of the 15 areas listed above to help you reach your goals.

  8. Report Presentation 
    We will do a presentation of the results to an audience of your choice.

  9. Implentation 
    Through our "Consulting Services" and "Operations Services" we can help you to implement your roadmap for our regular consulting fees.  (Implementation is not included in the Arts Roadmap fee.)

The cost is based on your organization's gross annual income:
